Reflections for White Women Committed to Racial Justice
As you are seeing yourself in Amy Cooper and the ways that the words and tears of white women can bring about physical death and destruction to Black people today, also consider how that shows up in workspaces.
How many careers have you bodied? How many BIPOC have you targeted, threatened, and/or pushed out of workspaces, institutions, organizations because you perceived their existence as a threat to your own authority or upward trajectory?
How many careers have you stalled because they dared to look you in the eye?
What’s that? You didn’t make the decision you say? How many times have you set the process in motion?
