Going Beyond the “Highlight Reel” of Dr. King’s Legacy: Difficult Dialogues National Resource Center Newsletter

Sadly, I still hear Dr. King’s name invoked as a tool to outright silence or tone-police Black people who are fighting for liberation and justice. In an effort to reject the often repeated and “sanitized” version of King that is more palatable to the white power structure I compiled a collection of quotes of his that represent some of the larger questions he was asking during his life.

Those quotes were included in the January and February 2021 newsletter of the Difficult Dialogues National Resource Center.

Visit the newsletter to find more information, including an interview from Dr. King that hasn’t gotten much airtime, some guiding questions to reflect on what you’ve learned and haven’t learned about him, and more.
